When you build with Kodiak’s industry-leading steel building systems, you can count on quality, dependability, and durability.
As an authorized Robertson Building Systems dealer, all of our steel building components are precision-crafted in accredited Robertson manufacturing facilities across North America.
Each steel building component is inspected and certified, and our quality assurance program ensures that every building we manufacture and ship can be assembled as planned.
We adhere to intensive, ongoing quality and inspection programs to ensure a precision fit on site which results in less delays, and a faster overall turnaround time.
All of our building components are manufactured under quality standard CAN/CSA-A660 in IAS AC472 accredited facilities.
Our steel buildings are out to out steel, and will require a foundation with the same width and length as the building.
If your slab is designed to support the weight of your new building, you can epoxy in anchor bolts to install your new steel building over the existing slab (Cold-Form and Red Iron Steel).
There are several options for anchor bolts that you can use to attach your steel frame to the existing foundation.
Anchor bolt plans are included with your Kodiak steel building system to give you the exact location of the anchor bolts for easy placement when modifying your existing foundation.
Kodiak steel buildings are designed for unlimited scalability. Using our lean-to frames or expandable end wall features, you can add on to an existing structure or expand your building in the future as your need for space grows.
Our easy building addition options suit many purposes, including self-storage, agricultural, warehouse, and commercial buildings. For example, take a look at this 30×300 lean-to addition we did for a TimberMill to rebuild and expand their shop and warehouse space.
You will receive engineered building drawings and anchor bolt plans before delivery to ensure you have all the specifications/information required to obtain permits and plan for the foundation and erecting.
The anchor bolt plans provide a template for exact bolt placement when pouring your pad. Once your foundation and anchor bolts are set, the framing components attach to the anchor bolts for a quick and efficient install.
Once the frame is completed, the roof and wall panels fasten to the frame (with included color-matching fasteners) and your Kodiak steel building is ready to go!

To ensure long-term building stability, building on a full foundation is recommended.
Depending on your building type and size, you may be able to install on concrete piers (for the columns).
If you are building on a farm, ranch or other area with dirt, sand, or gravel floors, you can use a concrete pier system. You can also consider the “base girt” option, which combines piers with concrete footing around the building.
Final foundation requirements will be determined by your engineered building and concrete drawings and based on the final size, weight, loads, and design of your building.
Concrete drawings and anchor bolts are included with our Cold-Form Steel Building System.
If you are building with Red Iron Steel – engineered building drawings and anchor bolt plans are included. Foundation drawings and anchor bolts ARE NOT INCLUDED and are to be supplied by a local engineer.
Engineered drawings and anchor bolt plans are included with your building so you can see every inch of your project before it goes to production.
Your pre-engineered drawings detail every connection used in your building, as well as the main frame, walls, and roofing structure.
These drawings will give you all the information you need to plan for the foundation, install, and interior, making it easy to submit and obtain any necessary building permits.

Unlike wood that can shift, warp, and rot – our Cold-Form Steel Buildings will not crack, expand, or corrode.
Fire, mold, and pest-resistant, they are also energy-efficient and require little-to-no maintenance reducing the overall life-cycle cost of your building as they do not have to be replaced as often.
Cold-Formed buildings feature a custom manufactured galvanized steel frame – which resists moisture and works well in high-heat/humidity locations, as it will not rust, corrode, or expand when exposed to heat. Engineered for your location to withstand all local seismic loads and weather conditions.
Our Cold-Form building system includes 26G (or 24G) PBR roof & wall panels, backed with a 25 year warranty on the panel paint, ensuring your building looks like new year after year. (40 year warranty also available).
As an added benefit – Kodiak steel buildings are also virtually 100% recyclable and create no waste from the manufacturing process through to the removal of your building. This helps conserve natural resources and reduce environmental impact, while lasting longer than conventional building products.
Formed by machine, Cold-Form buildings are durable and offer the fastest lead times.
Benefit from a high-speed production process – Cold-formed steel is made from structural quality sheet steel formed into C-section and other shapes by roll-forming the steel through a series of dies. This is done by machine and no heat is required to form the shapes (unlike hot-rolled/red iron steel), hence the name cold-form steel .
Custom manufactured and precision-crafted in plants across North America, all Kodiak cold-form building components are manufactured under quality standard CAN/CSA-A660 in IAS AC472 in accredited facilities to ensure conformance to standards referenced in building codes.
Welding standards are in accordance with CSA Standard W59-03 Welded Steel Construction and American Standard – AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel.

PAYMENT & DELIVERY
Curious about timelines and delivery? Here’s everything you need to know
The type of equipment required will depend on the size of your building. A forklift, boom truck, skid steer, or spreader bar with a lifting capacity of 2000 LBS is ideal.
We limit our bundle weights to a maximum of 3000 lbs. The bundles can also be broken down into smaller loads if necessary.
A tele-handler can be used to help with the frame and building panel installation. Head over to our Building Assembly page to watch how it all comes together.
We ship to all 48 states (Alaska excluded), and every province and territory in Canada. Freight/Shipping and all duties are included in your building price (unless noted otherwise on your quote).
If you are building in a location outside of these areas, we can arrange to ship your steel building components to the closest port/drop off point and you can arrange third-party shipping/transportation to your build site.
Insurance regulations prevent our delivery drivers from assisting in unloading. You will be responsible for unloading your building, and will need lifting equipment to offload.
This can be quickly and easily done using a skid steer or forklift. All of your steel building components will be bundled and shipped via flatbed truck, and delivered as close as possible for quick and easy offloading.
Ideally, we recommend that you have at least 3 people on hand to help you unload your steel building.
Our payment process is simple, and broken into 3 steps so you can plan the production to align with the timing of your building project.
- Deposit #1 – Initiate Building Drawings to obtain permits and take the next steps of your build.
2. Once your permits are approved/completed, we require Deposit #2 to move your building into production.
3. Deposit #3 will be due once the building is on the truck, out for delivery.
We do not offer financing plans. This is best handled by your local bank, lender, or other private source. We do have a flexible deposit process (see payment section) to break up the payments, which allows for an easier payment schedule.
We have a variety of payment options to suit what works best for you.
Invoices will be sent via email, and can be paid online easily and securely via Bank/wire transfer or credit card. We also accept cash or cheque if paying in person at a Kodiak office.
Turnaround time will depend on a number of factors including your building type, location, size, and features.
If you are building with our Cold-Form Steel building system, estimated turnaround time is 4-6 weeks from order to delivery.
For our Red Iron Steel building system – you can estimate an 8-12 week turnaround from start to finish.
Once your building has been manufactured, we ship your building components from the plant direct to you within 2-3 days to any location across the USA and Canada.
